Owens Corning 705 1" Insulation is made of inorganic glass fibers with a thermosetting resin binder and formed into rigid rectangular boards. This insulation reduces heat transfer and absorbs sound. 705 is a high-strength rigid board for use on chillers, other mechanical equipment, walls and ceilings, HVAC, acoustic treatment, sound dampening panels, and DIY projects where high-abuse resistance and good, finished appearance is important. This insulation has a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.75 and features a Heat Resistance (R-Value) of 4.3. Owens Corning is the industry standard as it is Fire Rated Class A or Class 1 per ASTM E84. These insulation boards offer superior acoustic absorption, and as such, are commonly used in DIY bass trap, acoustic panel, and sound absorber designs. These boards are certified by SCS Global Services to contain an average of 53% recycled glass content, 31% pre-consumer and 22% post-consumer. The unfaced 1 inch insulation board is sized 24" x 48" x 1" and comes in a pack of 8, for a total of 64 square feet of coverage.
